State CIO Top Ten Priorities for 2023
The National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO) released the State CIO Top Ten Policy and Technology Priorities for 2023, according to a press release from NASCIO on December 12. NASCIO executive director Doug Robinson said, “state CIOs continue to face increasing challenges with IT workforce, especially in the area of cybersecurity.” Cybersecurity and risk management remains the number one priority for state CIOs, according to the results from the survey of 51 state and territory chief information officers.
Ohio Multistate Nursing License Expands Nursing Care
The Ohio Board of Nursing and the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) now offer the option in Ohio for a multistate license (MSL), according to Daily Nurse on December 9. The multistate license enables Ohio nurses to practice in the 37 NLC states—and allows nurses from other states to work in Ohio. To convert a single-state nursing license into a multistate nursing license, nurses must meet several criteria, including meeting all of Ohio’s licensure requirements.
Nev. Nursing Board Expedites Nursing Licenses
The Nevada State Board of Nursing plans to expedite nursing licenses in the state to assist with the increase in respiratory illnesses affecting children. According to Fox5 on December 5, The Southern Nevada Health District on December 2 reported over 1,800 cases of RSV for November—a 200% increase compared to November 2021. The state explained that “any nurse a facility deems necessary to assist with the current pediatric crisis, will have their application processed immediately by the NSBN.”
