Medical Boards Change Licensing Applications to Support Physician Well-being
Twenty-three medical boards changed their licensing applications to support physicians seeking help for mental health or a substance-use disorder. The American Medical Association recognized 21 states “all in wellbeing first champions;” as of May 1, these states include: California, Connecticut, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Kansas, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Texas, Utah and Washington. These states met one of three criteria to receive the honor.
