North Dakota Department of Human Services, Children and Family Services Division
The North Dakota Department of Human Services, Children and Family Services Division, has chosen GL Solutions to develop a statewide child-care licensing system. The system will streamline the licensing, management and administration of child care facilities throughout North Dakota. Regulatory officials will use GL Solutions’ configurable GL Suite application to ensure that facility operators adhere to safety standards involving facility size, cleanliness, staff qualifications and staff-to-child ratios, among others.
In addition to licensing, North Dakota’s GL Suite system will manage facility investigations and enforcement actions, including license suspensions and revocations. The child-care licensing system also will facilitate criminal history checks for staff at child-care facilities.
To keep consumers informed, GL Suite will support a website allowing the public to review the up-to-date licensing and disciplinary status of child-care facilities.
Following installation, GL Solutions will provide ongoing support through its GL Simple plan, which includes hosting at a Tier III certified data center, covers all defect correction and allows for continual system enhancements.
The Children and Family Services Division joins a growing list of human services agencies that have partnered with GL Solutions to protect uniquely vulnerable populations.
Others include the following:
Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services
GL Solutions will go live soon with a children’s residential-care licensing system for the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services. The system will automate and streamline workflow related to license applications and renewals, investigations and enforcement actions. It also will manage facility inspections.
Among other things, Virginia’s GL Suite application will track available beds, manage criminal history checks for facility staff, and support websites that allow residential providers to fulfill licensure requirements and the public to review licensure status. An interactive provider portal will allow the agency to manage all forms and communications electronically, including automated notices to both staff and providers when action is required.
GL Solutions will support Virginia following go-live through its GL Simple plan, which includes hosting and defect correction while allowing for continual system enhancements.
New Mexico Children, Youth & Families Department
The New Mexico Children, Youth & Families Department engaged GL Solutions in May 2020 to develop a licensing system for a range of services and facilities related to foster care, behavioral health and residential treatment. The GL Suite application also will manage investigations and enforcement actions and support websites that serve the needs of both licensees and the public.
GL Solutions is developing New Mexico’s licensing system under the company’s GL Simple installation option, a subscription model in which GL Suite is configured according to an agency’s needs for a monthly fee determined by user count.
The GL Simple installation option is designed for agencies that want to install regulatory software systems quickly, inexpensively and without going through procurement. Agencies can choose to go live within months with minimal systems that are then built out over time using the GL Simple support plan. Alternatively, they can choose to devote more time to development, then go live with more powerful systems that, too, will continue to evolve with the use of the GL Simple support plan.
Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services
For more than a decade, the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services has used GL Suite to license several occupations involved in the care of the elderly. These include adult care home administrators, audiologists, speech language pathologists and certified nurses’ aides, among others.
The system manages criminal history checks using a direct interface GL Solutions created between GL Suite and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation to ensure accurate and timely results.
GL Solutions has provided a paperless, web-based portal for facilities, including hospitals, to log in, review current employees, process employee renewals and view background check results. GL Solutions also has provided an online nurse aide registry that allows the public to review the credentials and status of licensees.
GL Solutions provides hosting and ongoing support for the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services.
