StateRAMP Provides Updates on CJIS-Aligned Task Force
On December 5th, StateRAMP’s Executive Director Leah McGrath hosted StateRAMP’s Q4 Provider Leadership Council meeting. Key topics included updates from the CJIS-Aligned Task Force, a summary of 2025 strategic initiatives, and introductions of newly appointed governance and committees. According to StateRAMP, the CJIS-Aligned Task Force explains their mission as “to craft an innovative overlay for StateRAMP’s Moderate Impact Level baseline controls, aligning seamlessly with CJIS requirements. While a formal CJIS certification may not exist, our CJIS-focused overlay serves as a beacon, illuminating a product’s likelihood for CJIS conformance.”
California Pharmacy Board Proposes Amended Regulation for Business Discontinuations
The California Board of Pharmacy on November 15 proposed an amendment to the rules that govern the discontinuation of pharmacy businesses in California. According to JD Supra on December 3, the rule still requires that licensees contact the board before selling or transferring inventory because of a business closure. However, the amended rule proposes notifying patients before the closure, among other changes. The public comment period runs through December 30.
Regulatory Leaders Recognized for Regulatory Excellence
The Council on Licensure, Enforcement and Regulation (CLEAR) presented their 2024 CLEAR Awards in Baltimore during CLEAR’s Annual Educational Conference. In Regulation Matters: a CLEAR conversation, the award winners share insights from their experiences. In this episode, guests included Sharon Oliver, recipient of the Regulatory Excellence Individual Award. According to the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards, Oliver serves as the Maryland State Board of Chiropractic Examiners & Maryland State Board of Massage Therapy Examiners Executive Director.
