The Wyoming Board of Cosmetology, a client since 2011, recently began using a graphical Business Intelligence report built by GL Solutions. Agency Executive Director Sharon Bennett ordered the report to show members of her board how many licensees had been added and renewals processed between board meetings.
The agency did not have a query designed specifically to produce this information before ordering the Business Intelligence report, Bennett says. As a result, gathering the data tended to be time-consuming.
The new report presents license and renewal information in graphical form. An interactive slider bar on the report allows users to set date ranges for information displayed. The application and renewal categories are clickable as well, allowing users to drill down into data for date ranges specified.
For additional information, users can review the underlying data by clicking the Details tab at the bottom of the report.
In addition to showing board members the data the agency needs to display, the Business Intelligence report is “aesthetically pleasing for them to see,” says Bennett.
GL Solutions has built Business Intelligence reports for other clients as well. One of them is the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services, which will go live within months with a children’s residential-care licensing system. Users will have access to a drill-down Business Intelligence report, including a map, showing available beds by service type.
