Solving a client’s unique need to identify duplicate records

Recently, a client expressed concern that web users would accidentally create duplicate individuals rather than use those already in the system. This could happen, as this client tracks minimal information for individuals. A user, then, could create a duplicate individual by spelling a name or address in a slightly different manner than those of an existing individual. To answer this agency’s concerns, GL Solutions created a query that identifies duplicate records based on entity type by comparing name and address information. The agency will use the query to find and merge accidental duplicates.
