Meet Configuration Specialist Sean Justice

GL Solutions Sean Justice

Q: What do you like most about working at GL Solutions?

A: GLS is an excellent job with a healthy workplace and working here is a chance to challenge myself and expand my skills in a way that doesn’t leave room for getting lazy or demotivated. Just since I’ve started working here, I’ve learned enough about SQL and XPath to consider myself ‘proficient’ in both, despite not having any prior knowledge.

Q: What is your title and how long have you worked at GL Solutions?

A: I’m a Configuration Specialist and I’ve been here since April 1st.

Q: What sort of work do you do each day to meet our mission: GL Solutions helps governments run, grow and adapt?

A: I like to think I contribute by asking a lot of ‘why’ and ‘why not’ questions. I always have thoughts on policy, training, or the spec I’m working on, and I’m not afraid to share them and challenge my peers to think twice.

Q: What is something most people don’t know about you?

A: I am largely self-taught, and I didn’t know much about programming before I came here. Most people assume I am college educated or a ‘code guy’ when they first meet me. Neither is true- I come from a background of ‘GED and basic Customer Service Jobs’ before GLS, and everything I know about the job I have now was learned here. It has been an excellent opportunity!
