Q: What does your agency do?

A: The board regulates the practice of medicine in the state by licensing allopathic physicians (MD) and physician assistants (PA); investigating and resolving complaints against licensees; and providing information to the public, such as license status and disciplinary history.

Q: What is your role within your agency?

A: I am the application development manager. My team and I are responsible for analyzing, designing, developing and implementing new software applications and ensuring proper functioning of existing systems.

Q: How long have you worked for your agency?

A: I have worked for the agency for nearly 11 years.

Q: What aspect of your job do you find the most rewarding?

A: The most rewarding aspect of my job is having the opportunity to solve complex problems. My team and I work hard to find creative solutions that make processes easier for our staff and bring their vision to fruition.

Q: What is your favorite hobby or pastime?

A: Growing vegetables in the sweltering Arizona heat!

Q: How long has your agency used GL Suite?

A: We have used GL Suite for over 12 years (since 2008).

Q: How does your agency use GL Suite?

A: Our agency uses Gl Suite for two major functions:
Licensing: application, renewals and payment
• Regulatory: processing complaints, disciplinary orders and monitoring compliance related matters.

Q: What aspects of your job or those of your colleagues has GL Suite made easier or faster?

A: We have been able to increase staff productivity by:
• Allowing our licensees and residency programs to apply / renew their licenses online.
• Enabling complainants to file complaints online.
• Enabling staff to dynamically generate meeting agendas and reports.

Q: What else would you like people to know about you, your agency or GL Suite?

A: We have been able to customize GL Suite to meet our specific requirements. Our in-house software team and GL Suite developers have worked in conjunction to effectively translate end-user requirements into working solutions.
